Neal Hoapili Ane
Founder & Past Executive Director (In Memoriam)
Hoapili had extensive knowledge in kalo cultivation, ranching, and farming, and inspired everyone around him to be better and leave their mark in this world. Born and raised on O'ahu and Maui, he worked at Haleakala Dairy as a youth and on a family ranch in Oregon during college. He brought his deep agricultural expertise back to Maui to help Living Pono Project become a bridge for others to become farmers and ranchers through sustainable practices and a circular economy mindset rooted in Hawaiian culture and community. His vision and leadership continue to guide our work.
